This guys says “Kwame Brown, Javaris Crittenton and a couple first-round draft picks for Pau Gasol? It doesn’t matter if you want to rebuild. You just helped an opposing team build a possible dynasty.”  WTF, build a possible dynasty? Pass the crack this way Kenny, I want some of this stuff.

“My prediction for how the West will be won? The Suns will rise and beat the Lakers to advance to the NBA Finals.”

Nice pic, courtesy of ESPN.com:

Lakers vs Suns - A new chapter begins tonight!

Great game…especially the 1st half, they dominated. Why couldn’t they play like this last week at Atlanta???

Gasol scored 23 in his LA debut. He just fits in.

Bryant needs 16 points to tie David Robinson (20,790) for 27th on the career list. Bryant, who set a franchise record by converting 62 consecutive free throws in January 2006, has made his last 49 in a row.

Next Game: At Suns, Wednesday 6:00pm (ESPN).

Wow, I could easily say this was the best slam dunk contest I have seen for a long time…may be the one Vince Carter won was better…

But you have to give it to Howard, big guy could dunk. My favorite was the one he bounced it off the board with his left hand then he dunked it with his right hand, all in the air. The guy is a monster. Green had no chance this year…

How about Kapone, man 25 points tying the record. Home boy could shoot…

MINNEAPOLIS — Los Angeles Lakers center Chris Mihm underwent surgery Wednesday to remove a screw from his right heel.

Chris MihmMihm

His recovery time is expected to be about six weeks, the team said.

Mihm has been sidelined with right ankle problems for several weeks. He’s averaged 4.1 points and 3.7 rebounds in 19 games this season.

Coach Phil Jackson, speaking before the team’s game at Minnesota, said it’s possible Mihm will be ready in time for the playoffs. Mihm missed all of last season while recovering from surgeries on his right ankle, which he injured badly two years ago to keep him out of the 2006 playoffs.

Jackson said he’s hopeful the latest surgery will be the solution to keeping the 28-year-old Mihm healthy over the long-term.

“We’re happy he’s working toward another angle,” Jackson said.

NEW ORLEANS — Dallas Mavericks forward Dirk Nowitzki will replace Kobe Bryant in the 3-point shooting contest Saturday night because the Los Angeles Lakers‘ star has a dislocated pinkie on his right hand.

Bryant’s injury will not keep him out of Sunday night’s All-Star Game in the New Orleans Arena.

Nowitzki, the NBA MVP last season, won the 3-point shootout in 2006. He will compete in the event for the fifth time.
